Introduction to Umango
Umango is an advanced document data capture and routing application designed to automate the scanning, importing, naming, indexing, and storing of documents. It enhances efficiency through batch scanning, allowing large volumes of documents to be processed swiftly, leveraging the scanner's speed to streamline the entire document management workflow.
Documents can be scanned or imported directly into Umango from a connected TWAIN scanner, a multi-function device (MFD), or imported from various "watched" sources such as network folders, email, and cloud-based storage systems. Utilizing tools like Artificial Intelligence (AI), zonal OMR, zonal OCR/ICR, barcodes, keywords, ODBC lookups, and lasso OCR, Umango efficiently indexes, names, and stores documents for easy future retrieval. It also supports exporting documents in multiple formats, including Word, Excel, Open Office, TIFF, PDF/A, or text-searchable PDF/A.
Setting up and deploying jobs in Umango is straightforward and efficient, thanks to AI and built-in Job Wizards. This allows users to quickly configure jobs and start processing documents with minimal effort. Umango integrates seamlessly with a wide range of supported MFDs, enabling users to scan, process, verify, and export jobs directly from their devices without needing a PC-based application interface.
Umango offers extensive export capabilities to a growing array of on-premise and cloud-based back-office systems, such as SharePoint365, Dropbox, or Google G-Suite, and databases like ERP and CRM systems. It provides unlimited flexibility through scripts and connectivity tools.
Umango accommodates varying levels of automation, from manual processes where each piece of metadata is meticulously checked and verified, to fully automated operations running as background services that require no user intervention.
