Ricoh Embedded App

Overview

Umango can be embedded on any Ricoh SOP device with Browser NX support with Ricoh Smart SDK firmware to version 2.50 or later.

Authentication

In order for shortcuts to the Umango App to be automatically added to a device when assigning it as a source, Administrator Authentication Management must be enabled on the device. To do this, follow the steps below.

    1. Open a web browser and navigate to the device’s web management console using the device’s IP address
    2. Login (if necessary)
    3. Browse to Device Management > Configuration > Administrator Authentication Management
    4. Ensure User Administrator Authentication is “On”
    5. Select OK to save changes
Required Settings

In order for the Umango App to function correctly on Ricoh devices it is important that the following settings are in place:

    1. Cookies - Cookies must be enabled within the NX Browser settings to ensure Umango sessions can persist on the device. If cookies are disabled, the device will continuously retry to request a session without success.
    2. SSL/TLS - If Umango is not configured for HTTPS and the Ricoh device is set to only allow secure connections, it may continuously retry the request without success. The Ricoh device's SSL/TLS settings must match those enabled on the Ricoh device.
