Xerox Embedded App

Overview

Umango can be seamlessly embedded on any Xerox EIP ConnectKey 2016 (or later) device with EIP enabled, including the VersaLink and AltaLink series. Ensure the EIP functionality is enabled on your device to proceed with the integration.

There is is no manual configuration of the Xerox device required to install the Umango embedded app onto a Xerox device. When a job is assigned to the device, Umango will automatically deploy the embedded app ready for use.

Xerox Remote Directory Lock Failed

When scanning from the Umango embedded application on Xerox devices, you may encounter the error: Remote directory lock failed. To resolve this issue, FTP locking should be disabled. The process varies depending on the device model.

For AltaLink and WorkCenter Devices:

  • Open a browser and navigate to the Xerox device management console URL.
  • Log in as an admin using the Xerox user ID and password.
  • Enter the URL: http://IPAddress/diagnostics/lockFiles.php.
  • Uncheck the 'Lock Files' enabled button.
  • Press 'Apply' to save the changes.

For VersaLink Devices:

  • Open a browser and navigate to the Xerox device management console URL.
  • Log in as an admin using the Xerox user ID and password.
  • Navigate to System > Security.
  • Within the Security area, select the Feature Enablement option.
  • Enter the correct enablement code from the list below and save it.
  • Restart the device.

Update: In some newer device models, the lock files option may be relocated to:

  • Properties > Apps > Scan Services > Defaults & Policies > Scanning Lock Files Policy

Uncheck the Lock Files option and press Save.
